AVI LIPMAN

Avi joined Our Children’s Trust in 2024 to manage the growth of our litigation practice. He supervises senior staff attorneys, paralegals, and a legal assistant. Among other things, Avi will continue to develop OCT's robust year-round law clerk program and to expand our post-graduate fellowship program.  

Before joining OCT, Avi practiced complex civil litigation for 16 years at McNaul Ebel Nawrot & Helgren PLLC in Seattle, where he became a partner in 2014. He represented plaintiffs and defendants in trial and appellate litigation, appearing regularly as first-chair counsel in jury trials, arbitrations, and mediations. He was previously a trial attorney for The Defender Association, pro bono counsel investigating mistreatment of incarcerated youth during and after Hurricane Katrina, and a teaching fellow at Georgetown Law Center. He received his JD from New York University School of Law, LLM in Trial Advocacy from Georgetown, and BA from Oberlin College.
