Age: 15 | Hometown: alo Alto, California

"We are experiencing what no one should have to experience. We're facing constitutional negligence. We're challenging the EPA's failure to protect us. The air we breathe has become a casualty of their opposition."

From a young age Avroh has organized and advocated for climate action, conservation, the environment, and more. When he was in third grade, he founded a Nature Preservation-oriented club to do his part in cleaning up the environment. Since age ten, he has closely followed what scientists have to say about climate change’s impact on people and the planet.

His awareness of environmental issues began in fourth grade when he had to wear a mask to shield himself from wildfire smoke during California's deadliest wildfire in 2018. Wildfire seasons have not only canceled recreational activities, school days, and soccer games for Avroh but have caused him to experience respiratory issues and nosebleeds. Flooding and high winds from increasingly severe storms have also made campus unsafe for students, disrupting Avroh’s education several times through evacuations, power outages, and cancellations.

Avroh is committed to taking action to protect the environment both at home and at school and works with various organizations to protect the planet. Despite his efforts, he still grapples with anxiety about the climate crisis and questions whether those in power will continue to perpetuate harm to him and future generations.
